Dark Eldar Reaver Jetbikes

After my complaining about the 40k rulebook I bring you these jetbikes. They only took me around a year to get painted all the way. I love the models and they were easy to paint!

6th book, templates, and other things!

Collectors and I like to call the Hipster bag Editions

The Normal 75 buck rulebook

Fancy Templates, Tape Measure, and Dice for EVERYTHING

More pics of dice and it looks like dice holders
Psyhic Power Cards

Magic Lists
So there we have it, 6th stuff. The book looks nice but I will be waiting on the small version. I like the dice but I already have counters from another company so no use for me there. Dice holders are pretty smart, as it hopefully will keep you from picking them up and its better than the ugly 5th counters. I do not like the templates or the Ruler. The templates look good in the pictures but I bet they look as bad as the fantasy ones. The ruler how do you hold it? It probably Will break easier than a 4 buck one from home depot. Cards for the new Psychic Powers, interesting but what about daemons and orks? Are they screwed till they get a book or will they give us something for them. I guess time will tell.

6th edition Rulebook cover and thoughts.

40k Rulebook cover

So here it is the cover for the new 6th rules of 40k. As with many people I am hoping this book will fix the issues that 5th edition was starting to show. Not that I think 5th was bad, just once again GW shows they love the codex creep as they did in 6th edition fantasy. So if we go by the price of the fantasy rulebook it will be 74.25.

Now I am sure this will be a awesome book just like the fantasy one. the issue I have is to get a cheap book I will have to wait till the 2 player set comes out. Will cost around 25 bucks then but I will have to grab it from eBay. So why does this matter? Well many other games the rules are cheaper to get you hooked into it.

Starting out with my favorite of them Malifaux, the rulebook is only 15 bucks. Now this book is just the rules.Even when you want more with fluff you can pick up this book and 2 of the books with fluff and model rules(not needed in the game since the rules come on the cards with the models) for the price of the GW book.I would rather see someone buy the rules and one of the starter boxes and even that will be around 20 bucks cheaper than the 40k rulebook.

The Warmachine/Hordes rulebooks are only 29.99 each, so with the savings you could buy one of their awesome starters for 50 to get you a good start to go with the book. Spartan games rulebooks are 33each and once again you can spend 50 bucks to get a awesome starter for any army that you want to go with it. Looking at some other games which I do not have any experience with Infinity the rulebook is 40, Dust Tactics is 40.00, Mantic Games have the rules for free and the only one that is close to GW in price is Flames of War at 60.00.

So as many other have stated before me, GW really needs to get their act together and get the price down some to make the game appealing to more people. I believe this will happened but not for a long time. The other companies are gaining more and more players and GW will not even think of them till they become a real threat to them. The only advice I can give you is if you are tired of GW prices, support the smaller companies and find a game you and your group will like and play it instead. The companies I have listed have all been around for years and will not be going anywhere and most will treat you like a person not just a dollar bill.

Galadhrim

So here are all my Galadhrim warriors on foot I have right now. One of the old boxes of 24, somehow I am missing one bowman and another got his bow broke and I cannot find the piece. I will be getting another box worth to bring me up to 600pts. I really like these models and how easy they are to paint.

Lórien Guard a Galadhrim Army

The three brothers

So honestly I picked up Galadhrim because I liked the models. But after reading more on them I find they are a awesome force that even though not really in the lord of the rings books did fight during the last battle in the war for the ring against Dol Guldur.

The one thing that I liked was the three brothers Rúmil, Haldir, and Orophin. Most people will only really know Haldir from the Helms deep battle from the movies. Rúmil and Orophin are his brothers that in the movie and the books took the fellowship to Lórien to meet with Galadriel and Celeborn. Haldir was the only one that spoke the common tongue.

The army I have made is to be the three brothers fighting off Khamûl the Easterling leading the forces of Dol Guldur during the War of the Ring. I have to use a normal captain for Orophin as there are no rules for him in the game.

Rúmil with elven cloak
4 Galadhrim Warriors with shields
5 Galadhrim Warriors with spears
3 Guards of Galadhrim Court

Haldir with armor and elven cloak
9 Galadhrim Warriors with bows

Orophin on a horse with a shield
Galadhrim knight with banner
5 Galadhrim knights with shields

600pts
8 might, 30 models, 15 break point

The idea is to move up  Rúmil  then hit them with the knights to deliver the knock out blow. The bows will just sit back and take out easy targets. This is a small army but with everything with high might and working together it should work out well.

Netrunner is back!

The new face of netrunner

It's back! After over ten years of being out of print Fantasy Flight has picked up Netrunner and placed it in their Android Universe. Netrunner was one of the most underrated games of it's time, but even now still has a backing and people playing online. I loved the rules for Netrunner back then but I could never get anyone to play it rather than magic. Now that it is a LCG(living card game) I will have everything for 2 people to play. In Netrunner you either play has the Corps or the Netrunner, with the Corps trying to build up security to their computer systems and the runners trying to break in. It is a game of risks and planning and was a lot of fun to play back in the day. I am looking forward to reviewing the game as soon as it comes out and getting friends into it.
